- ↑ Jim Geibel also sent watcher "White Creek" a copy of the obituary of Michael. It says he was a well known and respected German citizen, who died at the home of his parent's on Elm Street. It goes on to say that he was a faithful member of the Hoosier Fire Company, and while fighting the Jones Restaurant fire, he contracted a sickness, from which he never recovered. His age was 33. The funeral was held at the German Lutheran church (which must mean St. Matthews Church? However, St. Matthew's wasn't Lutheran.) The minister Rev. Charles Little assisted the pastor in conducting the services.
