Obituary

MINER MEINDERTSMA PASSED AWAY SUNDAY

  Miner M. Meindertsma, 72 years old, a resident of the Coopersville area for 70 years and employed the past nine years as a millright at Campbell, Wyant & Cannon foundry in Muskegon, died Sunday at his home.  Death followed a stroke.
  Mr. Meindertsma, born in Vriesland, the Netherlands, December 8, 1878, came to Lamont when he was two years old.  His marriage to Nellie Walt took place at Eastmanville, January 10, 1906.
  He leaves his wife, two sons, Miner L. of Zeeland and Harold of Coopersville; six daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Mae) Luben, Mrs. Claude (Esther) Kulicamp, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Vissers, Mrs. Don (Irene) Bekins, all of Coopersville, Mrs. Edward (Florence) Huizenga of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Glenn (Mildred) Vissers of Allendale; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Langeland of Lamont, Mrs. Winnie Stall of Grand Rapids, and Miss Flora Meindertsma of Grand Rapids; two brothers, John Meindertsma of Coopersville and Hessel Meindertsma of Grand Rapids, and 13 grandchildren.
  The body was taken from the Throop Chapel Tuesday noon and remained at the residence until private rites in the home Thursday at 1:30 and a service at the Throop Chapel at 2 p.m.  Rev. G. J. Rozeboom and Rev. H. Hoffs officiated.  Burial was in Lamont cemetery.
