    Maureen J. "Boopsie" Gerszewski, age 62, of Minto, ND, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. 

    Maureen J. Carpenter was born August 20, 1946 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Edward and Mae (McGuire) Carpenter. She grew up and attended school in Oslo, MN. Following her education, Maureen was united in marriage to Tom Gerszewski on September 11, 1965 in Grafton, ND. The couple made their home in Minneapolis, MN where she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. She later worked as a receptionist for All State Insurance Company. The couple then moved to the family farm near Oslo, MN. In 1988, they moved to Warroad, MN where they worked for Marvin Windows. In the early 90's, they transferred to Fargo, ND and in 1998, they moved to Minto, ND where she continued to work for Marvin Windows in Grafton. Maureen had over 20 years of service with Marvin Windows

    Maureen was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society of Minto, ND and the Minto American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the monthly birthday club in Grafton. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time at the lake and the couple enjoyed traveling. She was an avid flower gardener and seamstress.

    Maureen is survived by her husband, Tom, of Minto, ND; children: Thom Gerszewski, New Hope, MN; Maggie (Lee) Holter, Grafton, ND; two grandchildren: Jacqueline A. and Clio J. Gerszewski; three step-grandchildren: Brittany, Amanda and Anna Holter; son-in-law: Daryl Lizakowski, Nisswa, MN; sisters: Helly (Arland) Johnson, Hawley, MN and Nancy Wimpfheimer (Vern Hodgson), Warren, MN and half-brother Glenn (Dale) Carpenter, Crookston, MN. 

    Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jackie Lizakowski, and two half-sisters: Carol and Marlene.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. 

    Interment (spring) will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery of Grafton. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements.
