Garden City Telegram, December 30, 2003 Mason K. Grigg SCOTT CITY - Funeral for Mason K. Grigg, 92, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City. Mr. Grigg died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City. He was born June 13, 1911, at Upland, to L.E. and Pearl King Grigg. He graduated from Manhattan High School and attended Kansas State University. In 1948, he moved from Abilene to Scott City, where he owned and operated Scott City Oil Co. for 26 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club, a former member of the chamber of commerce, a 32nd degree member of Masonic Lodge No. 284 and a 50-year member of the Scott City Shrine Club, all at Scott City. On April 1, 1936, he married Leola F. Hoffman at Plattsburg, Mo. She survives. He also is survived by two sons, Steven E. Grigg of Ulysses, and Kenton M. Grigg of Spring Hill; a daughter, Gynile E. Grigg of Tribune; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Visitation hours are until 8 tonight at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 401 Washington St., Scott City, KS 67871.
