23 Mar 1811 Mayson Garrett of Edgefield District to Richard Covington of same for the sum of two hundred forty dollars to me paid by the said Richard all that parcel of land containing 62 acres on Big Stevens Creek part of the estate of John Covington dec'd by right to my wife Nancy Garrett she being one of the children of the said dec'd... 1820 was his name John Mason Garrett and is that him next to his mother-in-law Susan/Susannah Covington in Dallas Co. AL 10001-1001 - if so he is still in Dallas Co. for the 1840 census but I can't find trace of him in 1850. A John Mason Garret resides in Union Co. AR at that time born in SC but gives his birth year as 1805 which is too late.
