[Note: the author apparently assumed Mary died early as she was not mentioned in her father's will and he found no marriage. However, her will names as her sisters Charity (Doughty) Embree, wife of John, and Eleanor (Doughty) Burling, wife of Benjamin, and this establishes she belongs in this family. As she married about 1730, like Charity and Eleanor, she is not mentioned, presumably because they all received their portions upon marriage.]
