MRS. NAUD BURNETT VICTIM OF PARALYSIS
Mrs. Naud Burnett, 52, died at a local hospital Monday night, following a stroke of paralysis Monday afternoon.
Formerly Miss Opal Lockett, Mrs. Burnett, a native of East Texas, born at Jefferson October 22, 1885, came to Greenville when a young woman and for some years was in the office of the Greenville Cotton Oil Mill. She was a most efficient office worker and made friends of those with whom she came in contact.
In 1920 she was married to Naud Burnett.
A most capable woman and a devout Christian, she had long been a member of Kavanaugh Church and as loved by all whom she contacted.
As a young woman rhe [sic] mothered neices [sic] and developed wonderful ability as a mother in caring for orphaned children before her marriage to Mr. Burnett and had been a wonderful mother to step-children in the Burnett home.
She is survived by her husband and six step-children: Elliott and Pat Burnett and Mrs. Johnny Hudspeth, of Greenville; Mrs. Clennon Hemsell, Amarillo; Mrs. Leo Parks, Shreveport, and Mrs. Cornelius Nevill, of Cisco.
Two nieces that were much like her own children: Mrs. A.B. Stephenson and Mrs. Frank Cain, of Greenville.
