Her name is given as M E Y Bramham in the estate records of her grandmother, as Margaret E Y Bramham in a chancery suit, and Margaret Elizabeth Yates Carter, wife of John B. Bramham on her tombstone, which says she died in 1850 in her 32nd year, which does not seem possible as she was married in 1840. However, she is shown as 31 years old on the 1850 census, which agrees with the tombsone. This makes 11 or 12 years old at the time of her marriage.
