Mara Branković or Mara Despina Hatun (c. 1416 – 14 September 1487), also known as Sultana Marija or Amerissa, was the daughter of Serbian monarch George Branković and Eirene Kantakouzene. As the daughter of Despot George, wife of Sultan Murad II and stepmother of Mehmed II, she came to play a significant role in diplomatic negotiations of the Ottoman Empire.
