It is with great sadness that the family of Malcolm (Mac) Summach announce his passing. He went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 1998 at the age of 78 years. Malcolm was born on June 17, 1920 in the Asquith district, where he grew up. He married Verna (McKee) on January 19, 1943 at Asquith and had 52 years of sharing their life together. Mac started working as a dairy farmer in 1944 and then operated Mac's Auto and Farm Supply In Asquith from 1949 to 1966. From 1967 to 1980 Mac worked for Flexi-Coil, retiring in that year. Mac was an avid sportsman, he especially loved, curling, hunting, fishing and golfing. In later years he took great pleasure in watching his grandchildren in all their sporting activities. Mac was actively involved his community, serving as the Mayor of Asquith for a number of years. He was also an active member of the Asquith Baptist church, involved in the musical group The Singing Grandpa's and serving as the Sunday School treasurer. Mac enjoyed many winters in Arizona and summers with the family at Christopher Lake. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives and many friends. <Information regarding living family members has been removed> He was predeceased by his first wife, Verna; parents, Fred and Esther Summach; brothers, Emerson and Delbert; sister, Muriel Seymour; and brother- in-law, Harvey Summach. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. at the Asquith Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Vern Winter, interment to follow at the Asquith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Asquith Baptist Church Sunday School, Box 334, Asquith, SK, S0K 0J0. Arrangements have been entrusted to SASKATOON Funeral HOME, 244-5577.
