Lucinda Adeline Burris was born August 27, 1866 at Atkins, Pope county, Arkansas and departed this life at the Sayre Hospital, Saturday, June 26, 1954 at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 29 days. She was the youngest of ten children of Elizabeth Adeline and James Burris all who have preceded her in death. She was married to William Middleton Easterling, November 16, 1884 at Atkins, Arkansas. To this union ten children were born of whom Thomas S. the oldest, died in infancy. In 1908 the family moved from Arkansas to Dundee, near Wichita Falls, Texas where they lived two years then moved to Mountain View, Oklahoma where they lived eight years then moved to Old Rankin, Oklahoma, January 12, 1919. Mrs. Easterling preceded her in death, October 12, 1941, having lived together 57 years. After his death, she moved to Reydon where she lived until her passing. Mrs. Easterling joined the Free-Will Baptist Church at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life to the end. She was a loving, faithful wife and mother, and a good neighbor loved by all who knew her. She took great pleasure in all phases of her life, active to the last which was her wish. She leaves to mourn her passing her nine children. They are Mary E. Dotson and George W. Easterling of Reydon; Ella Nancy Casto of San Diego, California; W. Elmer Easterling of Ventura, California; Flora Barber, Ojai, California; Lee O. McColgin of Reydon, Oklahoma; James Franklin Easterling of Hackett, Arkansas; M-Sgt. Vester A. Easterling of Korea; and Jewel P. Inman of Reydon. She also is survived by twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and two great great grandsons as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O.C. Simonton of Stanfield, Arizona assisted by Rev. H. Woodard, both former B Baptist pastors at Reydon, on Thursday. Interment was in the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma by the side of her husband.
