Louis S. “Bud” Gregg, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2014 in Amarillo Texas. He came into this world at Hagansport, Franklin County, Texas, the second surviving child to Sam Barnard Gregg and Helen Ruby White Gregg on April 8, 1912. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Mamie Jackson Gregg, brothers Richard B. Gregg and Albert W. Gregg, sisters Helen Rebeca Gregg Foster and Montie Ada Gregg Holly, granddaughter Rhonda Ann Robinson, Great Grandson Brandon Scott Gregg, Great Granddaughter Riley Gregg.

He is survived by his sons Rex E. Gregg, Louis S. Gregg Jr., and wife Debbie G. Gregg of Borger, Tx. Grandchildren Cynthia D. Smith, Rexanna R Long, Deona D. Fisk of Amarillo Tx and Troy D. Gregg, Marc A. Gregg, and Amy D. Hogan and husband Justin Hogan of Borger, Tx. Niece Thelma Gillean of Amarillo Tx. Also 11 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Louis came to Borger in 1936 with his family to find work. He worked in a plant construction and became a skilled at welding. He was a faithful member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for over sixty years. Louis loved his family and was always there for them. Whatever the need or want they knew they could go to Popi or Uncle Bud and he would take care of it. He loved to find “treasures,” others had thrown away, and hang on to them, getting ready for the next “Great Depression.” He unselfishly lived his role as a loving father and will sorely be missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends here on earth. Thank you Lord for blessing us with 102 years with this dear man.

Graveside Services will be held at Claude Cemetery on Wednesday, December 10th @ 2 PM. Mr. Gregg will lie in state at Brown’s Chapel of Fountains in Borger on Tuesday Dec 9th from 8 AM to 5 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors.
