Lloyd WHITECOTTON was born in Hoyt, Jackson county, Kansas, July 9, 1874. Two years later the family moved to Hutchison, Kansas, where they homesteaded. Later they lived in Rossville and then went to Dover, Kansas, where Mr. WHITECOTTON grew to manhood. He and Mary A. DREHER were married in Topeka, Kansas, December 19, 1900. They came to Colorado with their family in 1911.
Mr. WHITECOTTON had been a successful rancher and stockman in the Twentymile section. He was active in his business and in social life. His wife and children and grandchildren were his real companions. He also took a personal interest in all the young men he met, chumming with them and joining in their sports with the zest of youth. He always had a house full of young people around him and planned to have all members of his family and their friends at his home on every holiday. His departure leaves a vacancy in the home and in the community that will never be filled.
