Lloyd Markley
COOLVILLE - Lloyd Raymond Markley, 95, of Coolville, departed to meet Jesus Dec. 19, 2000.
He was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Argos, Ind., the eldest son of the late Harvey and Bessie Markley.
He had an ice cream/coffee and snack shop business in Constantine, Mich., where he was an active Gideon. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, traveled showing Bible science films, then pastored churches in California, Montana, Indiana and Ohio. He sold McNess products, worked at Shaver Funeral Home and greatly enjoyed working at Lee Middleton Doll Factory until the age of 90, while also serving as the associate pastor of Coolville Grace Brethren Church.
He is survived by a loving Grace Brethren Church as well as the caring staff at Arcadia Nursing Home and an only son, . He is also survived by grandchildren . He was proud of his 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and two nephews in Indiana and Michigan.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Viola Foureman; sister, Ruth Aker; and brother, Cecil.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at White Funeral Home, Coolville, with the Rev. George Horner officiating.
Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
