Leola M. Manecke, 87, of Fostoria, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Catherine’s Manor, in Fostoria. She was born August 6, 1932, in Bloomdale, to Earl and Ethel (Graves) Drake. She married Clair E. Manecke in 1965, and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2015. Surviving are her children Marsha (the late Gene) Meisner, of Alvada, Danny Haynes, of Fostoria, Jennifer (Roger) Young, of Fostoria, and Patty (Jim) Beach, of Arlington; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Ethel, twin brother, Leroy, brother, Harold, and sister, Mardell Hull. Leola was a graduate of Bloomdale High School. She was a true animal lover and would feed any stray cat or dog. She enjoyed reading and crocheting, and bowling, which she was very good at. Visitation will be from 11 am – 1 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1 pm. Rev, William Bentley, officiating. Due to the current COVID-19 circumstances, the family and the funeral home wish that everyone remains safe. Therefore, we ask that visitors be mindful of current social distancing and attendance guidelines, and require that masks be worn, and keep visiting brief. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, West Milgrove. Memorial contributions may be made to either of the Wood County or Hancock County Humane Societies.
