    Kenneth Calvin Jones, 86, of Sanford, died under Hospice care June 9 at his home in Sanford.

    He was born Aug. 8, 1918 the ninth of twelve children born to Edwin Jones and Amy Whitney Jones.

    A life-long resident of Sanford, he married Jacqueline Rose Watson of Meeker on Jan. 1, 1942 in Sanford. They were sealed on May 7, 1942 in the St. George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

    Kenneth served in many capacities in the L.D.S. church, as well as being active in the community.

    A carpenter for 50 years in the San Luis Valley, he was well known for his integrity and perfection in his work.

    Kenneth made many life-long friends through his honesty and generosity.
    He enjoyed farming and ranching his entire life.

    Kenneth and his compassion and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

    An infant son, Calvin Eugene Jones, preceded him in death.

    Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jackie; children, Kenneth (Elaine) Coulter of Eugene, Ore., Marsha (George) Stephens of Durango, Charla (Ernest) Coley of Sanford, Patricia (John) Gann of Sanford, Kevin (Pamela) Jones of Sanford, Kathy (Warren) Crowther of Sanford and Callie (Brett) Johnson of Pleasant Grove, Utah.; 28 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters.
    Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, at the Sanford Second Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with burial following in the Sanford Cemetery.
