    Kathleen O’Niell McSween Lobdell was born August 28, 1922 in Columbia, LA and passed away on December 11, 2014, at age 92, in Lafayette, La.

    She graduated from Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA in 1938. She attended LSU and graduated with a degree in Education. She met and married Walter Reginald Lobdell in Franklin, LA in 1947. They settled in Lake Charles and had five boys, Walter Jr., Charles, William, James, and David. She taught in several schools in Louisiana before becoming one of the earliest teachers at Episcopal Day School in Lake Charles.

    She was blessed with six grandchildren, Michael, Erin, Sarah, Tobin, Kate and Steven. She also has four great-grandchildren, Delilah, Anders, Jude and Sophia.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and her oldest son, Walter Jr.

    Kathleen was a wife, mother, teacher, grandmother, great-grandmother, wicked bridge player, and dispenser of sage advice. She will be greatly missed by her surviving sons and their spouses: Charles and Sandy, Will, Jim and Mary, David and Shereen; and their families as well.

    Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, in Lake Charles, LA, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The service conducted by her fellow teacher and long time friend, Reverend Boo Kay. Interment will follow in the church Columbarium. Visitation Saturday will begin at 2:00 PM in Hardtner Hall of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
