Last Will and Testament of Joseph Haynes
dated 21 Dec 1822

Knox County Court June Term 1823
The last will and Testament of Joseph Haynes Dec'd was produced in Court and proved by the oath of the subscribing witnesses there to as the law directs and orders to be recorded to wit.
In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Haynes of the County of Knox & State of Kentucky being reduced to a low state of health, make this my last will and Testament.
First, I recommend my soul to God who gave it. Secondly - I give my Body to the dirt from whence it came and direct it should be buried in a decent order. and I will & bequeath to my wife Dorcus Haines all my right title and claim to one hundred and twenty five acres of land on Clear Creek until her death, 4/ and for the -(can't read)- of my four children, Richard, James, Ephraim & Sarah, till they arrive to the age of twenty one and all my perishable property and househould furniture. I will and bequeath to my wife, until death, and to the -(can't read)- of family and at the death of my wife for all my real and personal property to be equally divided between my four before named children & In Testimony where I have hereunto set my hand & seal & sealed in the presence of this 21st day of December in the year of our Lord 1822.
