Obituary from the Hammond Time September 25, 1958 

   John C. McLain, 13501 Buffalo Ave., Hegewisch, died today in his home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 Baltimore Ave., Hegewisch.  Burial will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery in Chicago.
   Mr. McLain was a retired employe of the New York Central Railroad.
   Survivors include his widow, Lulu; three sons, Robert of Fort Wayne, Claude of Wayzata, Minn., and Gaylon of Sweet Horn, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Violet hagerman of Chicago and Mrs. Alma Dirr of Fort Wayne; a brother, Ford of Dolton, Ill; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
