John, eldest son, 'born (bapt. 1650) at Spurwink, now Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland County, Maine'. Fled with the rest of his father's family in 1675 to Great Island (now part of New Castle, N. H.). In 1677 or 1678, 'he received from his father a deed conveying to him the whole of Richmond's Island, upon which he soon after settled, as he was living there in 1680.' 'He was deceased in 1725.'
