Some time after the death of his wife, John J. Henderson married Nancy Esther Allen, by whom he had three children: Margaret A., deceased; Melinda E., the wife of S. A. Sands, of this county, and Esther Caroline, the wife of J. N. Sands, also of this county. On coming to Washington County he purchased 160 acres, and at his death left 200 acres of fine land.
