"John Wardwell Hatch of Avon, Conn., vice president of the claims division of Orion Group in Farmington, Conn., died Sunday in St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was 61 and formerly lived in Sudbury. Mr. Hatch had been with Orion Group, an insurance company, since 1979. He was born in Waterville, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine. Mr. Hatch leaves his wife, Carolyn (Maxwell); three sons, Douglas A. of Stow, Robert F. of Concord and Kenneth M. of Haverhill, N.H.; two daughters, Janet L. Spiller of Westford and Laura S. Tucker of Maynard; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Sudbury United Methodist Church, Sudbury. Burial will be in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury." -Boston Globe 04 April 1989
