    Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary for Howard D. Adkins, 28, 520 Woodland, who was killed in a two-car accident at E. 2nd and Croco Rd. at midnight Friday.

    He was born Sept. 18, 1943, in Topeka where he spent most of his life. He served eight years in the Navy including three years in Vietnam waters. He had been employed at Forbes Air Force Base the past year.

    He was married to the former Ruby Mayfield. She survives.

    Other survivors include a son, Charles Adkins, at home; a stepson, Ronnie Polich, at home; a stepdaughter, Angela Polich, at home; his mother, Mrs. Freda Adkins, 429 Twiss; six brothers, Vern Adkins, Scranton, Virgil Adkins, 6235 S.E. U.S. 40, Charles Adkins, Pendleton, Ore., Leo Adkins, 3823 Fremont, Harold Adkins, Mountain Home, Ark., and Russell Adkins, 922 N. Michigan; and two sisters, Mrs. Verla Morris, Toppenish, Wash., and Mrs. Ethel Rudolph, 419 Woodland.

    Philip Billard Post No. 1650, VFW will conduct graveside services at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
