MILLS, Helen Isobel (nee Phillips) Born February 13, 1927. It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Stuart Joseph Mills - "A True Love Story". Loving mother of Sherrie, Randy (Della), Wendy Laing (Bobby) and Patricia Mowat (Jamie). Cherished grandmother of Russill (Rowena), Zachary (Sonja), Katherine Riedstra (Eric), Marcy Mills, Lindsay Bohar (Tom), Justin Laing, Chelsea Benson (Rory) and Daphne Mowat. Dear great-grandmother of Cedric, Torin and Fenton Mills, and Isabella and Noah Bohar. Dear sister of the late Warren Phillips (Betty), Elizabeth Waters (Bill) and Gwen Edland (the late Jack). Helen was born in Rouleau, Saskatchewan to Clifford and Isobel. She came to the area at age 12 and has lived here since that time. Mom was a medical secretary for many years for various doctors in the area. She was a member of the Faith Rebekah Lodge #84 for over 66 years. Helen loved camping, was a devoted member of Central United Church, Welland, singing alto in the church choir and especially loved being with her family. The Mills family will receive visitors at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 2000 Merrittville Highway, Thorold on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel. Interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. We would like to thank the staff of the I.L.T.C., Welland Hospital, for their excellent loving care of our mother.
