    Helen Phyllis Long, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Lexington Park Nursing Home in Topeka. She was born July 21, 1927, at Dover, Kansas, the daughter of Jesse W. and Letha Marie (Kemble) Butner.

    She was married to Lyle Henry Long on September 21, 1943 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2009 Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Ericson of Dover; two sons, Elwyn Long and Tom Long, both of Topeka.; a sister, Loine Snook of Topeka; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Nystrom and Richard Butner.

    Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Dover Federated Church in Dover. Interment will follow in the Keene Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Dover Federated Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dover Community Center and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel.
