"Heinrich and Sybilla raised their family in Betzdorf. He was a Hoffman, meaning that he worked for the local estate, more than likely as a farmer. At his funeral, the priest noted that he had one of the best and most complete lives ever lived."1 Heinrich and Sybilla appear in the parish register of St. Michael's Catholic Church at Kirchen. The records of the parish begin in 1645 at which time Heinrich and Sybilla were already a married couple with several children. The are the only Stockschlader family in the parish and probably settled there in the early1640s.

"The Stockschleder given names of Diederich, Heinrich, Herman and Peter show up repeatedly in the 2nd half of the 1600s with all having a son named Diederich. It would be safe to assume that Diederich Stockschleder was Heinrich's father's name as well."
