She was a teacher when she married and taught in a private school in Grosse Pointe Michigan. They had no children, per Hazel Herrinton.

Obituary 

 MILLER -- Mrs. Harriet Florence Gies Miller, age 30, of Royal Oak, Mich. passed away Saturday morning at Blodgett hospital.  Surviving are her husband Robert O. Miller, her father John Gies, one sister, Mrs. P.A. Hartsvelt and one brother, Harold Lang of Coopersville.  Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her father residing at 452 Oakdale st. S.E. and at 2:30 at the Immanuel Presbyterian church, corner of Oakdale and Madison.  Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery.
