- ↑ Death date frequently shown as 1 May 1727.
Newton VRs, p. 460, show the death of wid. Hannah Hide 1 May 1737. On p. 462 is the death of Hannah Hides, w. Samuel, on 1 May 1727 [dup. May 21].
Hannah married first Elijah Kendrick, then m. (2) John Hyde (twin brother of Samuel). John Hyde died 1738 having named no wife in his will of 1732. Thus Hannah is not the widow, rather the widow appears to be Hannah (Stedman) Hyde, the widow of Samuel Hyde, who d. 1725. It appears that there was some confusion with the similarity of death dates and the date of 1 May 1727 is suspected of being a corruption of the widow's death date of 1 May 1737, while it seems likely this Hannah died 21 May 1727, causing the confusion. But as neither death record can definitively be assigned to this Hannah, the most we can say with any authority is that she died before 1732.
