  Mrs. Gladys Davis McLain, 81, of Columbus, Georgia died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in her home.
  Mrs. McLain was born October 18, 1923 in Raeford, the daughter of the late John T. Davis and the late Lessie Thames Davis. She lived in Columbus for the past 45 years and was a member of Edgewood United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Farrand W. McLain; one sister, Lillian Oliver of Raeford; and one brother, Thomas Davis.
  Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29 at Parkhill Cemetery with the Reverend Reg Hall officiating.

Survivors are her children, Patty Hornsby and her husband, John, of Columbus, Georgia, Farrand Garner of California and John McLain of Maryland; four grandchildren, including Candace Ward of Columbus; one great-grandchild, McKenzie Ward; three sisters, Murriel Herriford and Janet Clifton, both of Illinois, and Mary Alice Rotschafer of Nebraska; and one brother, John Davis of Raeford.

  Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road in Columbus, Georgia served the family.
