George was a minor, but alive, when his mothers will was written on 6 Jun 1675. Cornelius Comegys petitioned the Commissary General on behalf of his son and daughter-in-law to appoint a trustee for the property of her brother George Reid who had drowned under age and intestate.

At a provincil court held att the citty of st Marets the 13th day of May in the 5th yeare of ye Domination of the right honorable Charles Lord Baltimore 1680. George Reid age 14 years the sonn of George Reid late of Calvert County deceased came into court and comlained of the bad usage of him by Mrs Joane Waghob and desire that hee might have the liberty of making choice of Hugh Johnson of Talbot County to be his guardian which is accordingly ordered and allowed of the court here

Cornelius Comegys of Kent County Gent on behalf of William Comeys his sonn and shewrd that George Read late of St Marys County deceased intestate and that he the said William Comegys intermarried with one Elizabeth Tiler sister of the said deced Therefore pray that administration of all & singular the goods & chattles and Credits? Of the said deced may be unto him the said William committed in right of the said Elizabeth his wife Weh? Was granted and commissioned issued to Daniel namio? Of Kent County Gent to ? Adms and make security for his adm of the said estate. The 1686 administration of Hugh Johnson of Talbot County, who had been made guardian to George Reade II in 1680, included a payment to Cornelius Comegys.
