From "and they came to Mara...", p. 69: "The BOULTON brothers, George and William, were natives of Staffordshir e, England. In approximately the 1840's, George and William, along with t heir other brothers, sisters and their widowed father, emigrated from Engl and and settled in Toronto. George and William later removed to Durham Co unty, and upon his death, George still owned land in Cartwright Township.

George and William married the Dissette sisters, Elizabeth and Margare t. Both brothers lived in the Atherly vicinity and were known for their e xpertise in stock raising and other agricultural ventures. In 1884, Willi am accepted a position as manager of the asylum farm and stock in Toront o. He continued in this capacity until his untimely death in 1906.

George remained in Mara, where several of his children married and settle d, while others settled in the United States, particularly New York, whe re George and William had relatives. BOULTONs who remained in Mara were b uried in St. Columkille's parish Cem., Uptergrove."

    QUAY 3 "ATHERLY - The death of Mr. George Boulton, on Saturday, January 13th, caused general regret. He was born in Staffordshire in 1827, received his education in England and subsequent to the death of h is mother, came to Canada with his father, four brothers and three sisters, of whom only his brother Cornelius, of New York, is now living. His father, who was a carpenter and builder, settled at Tor onto, where Georg worked with him. In 1850 he married Eliza Dissette and of this union seven children were born...funeral took place on Monday morning, from his late residence to St. Columbkill's chu rch, Uptergrove..."
