Parentage

Source:Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, pg 838 states: "Frederick Yockey, father of Ms. Hughes, was a son of John and Elizabeth Yockey." However, his puported death certificate indicates father as "John Yockey" and mother as "Susan Hull". In both cases, parents are noted has having been born in Pennsylvania. It is not out of the question that "Elizabeth Yockey" is the same person as "Susan Hull", but it is an open question which needs resolving before creating a parent family record.

It should further be noted from Source:Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, pg 838: "John Yockey, grandfather of Mrs. Hughes, was born on the old farm in Rayburn township, and was the son of John Yockey, who was one of the very early settlers in that part of Armstrong county;.." (some adittional info not brought in here)

Refuted

Birth date in 1836 makes this association not possible.

Due to the time and geography proximity, it is possible that Frederick was the "Frederick Yockey" mentioned as a participant in a hunt in April 1828 aimed at culling carnivores, such as foxes and wolves, that had been preying upon farm animals, such as sheep and poultry. This was organized out of Kittanning, which sits in Rayburn Township, where he spent his entire life. See Source:Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, ppg 993-4, "Circular Wolf Hunt (April 5, 12 and 19, 1828)".
