MR. VAN AXTE LEAVES $13,000 TO CHARITY. The New York Herald reports the following: "Religious and charitable institutions receive $13,000 by the will of Frederick Van Axte, who died October 28, leaving at least $50,000. Mrs. Anna Van Axte, his widow, receives the family residence and the residuary estate, together with a life interest in a property which will revert on her death to a niece. After minor bequests to relatives, the will leaves $3,000 to St. John's Lutheran Church; the same amount to the Wartburg Orphans' Farm School; $2,000 to the Fritz Reuter Altenheim, of North Bergen, N.J.; $1,000 each to the New York Bible Society, the New York Association for the Improvement of the Condition of the Poor, the Society for the Care of German Seamen in the Port of New York, of Hoboken, N.J.; the Board of Church Extension of the General Synod; the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of St. John's Church."
Mr. Van Axte was a consistent and faithful member of St. John's Church, New York City, Rev. John J. Young, D.D., pastor.

REMEMBERED IN WILL Emma King and Sophie Van Axte to Receive Bequests. In the will of Frederick Van Axte, who died October 28, which has been filed for probate in the Surrogate's Court, two Brooklyn women are remembered. Emma King, a niece of Van Axte, who lives at 092 East Fourteenth street, is to receive upon the death of his widow, Anna Van Axte, of 232 West 13th street, Manhattan, the property located at 102 Eighth avenue, Manhattan. Sophie Van Axte, a sister-in-law, living at the East Fourteenth street house, is to receive $5,000, a part of the proceeds of the sale of seven lots in the Bronx. Bequests totaling $13,000 are left to religious and charitable institutions, including St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Wartburg Orphans Farm School, New York Bible Society. New-York Association for the Improvement of the Condition of the Poor, Society for the Care of German Seamen, Board of Church Extension of tho General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States, and the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society of St. John's Evangelical.
