    Frederick (Freddie) Minert Mueller, Jr.

Two months to the date of the memorial service for his wife Helen of 57 years; Freddie passed away.

Freddie was born on February 7, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to Frederick, Sr. and Vida Mueller; he was raised and educated in the city of Alamo Heights. He was called into service during World War II; fighting in combat in the mountains of Northern Italy. After the war, he returned to San Antonio, where he played drums in the Mack Roger's Orchestra and attended St. Mary's University. While in school, Freddie was once again called into military service, this time for the Korean War. Freddie's last tour of combat duty was in Vietnam as an advisor to the Vietnamese 25th Infantry Division.

In 1970, Freddie retired after a 20 year military career, moving his family to Rollingwood, Texas; where he was an active member of the Western Hill Optimist Club, and joined the Rollingwood Volunteer Fire Department and was Fire Chief for three years. Freddie also served as City Councilman for three years.

In addition, Freddie returned to school and graduated from St. Edward's University, and was Precinct 3 County Republican Chair for 20 years.

He is survived by daughter Paula Austin of Dallas; and daughter and son-in-law Sandie & Bruce Rummel of Lewisville; and his cherished granddaughters: Liz & her husband Dr. Brian Mazzarella; and Stephanie & Katie Rummel.

Freddie wished to be cremated, and along with his wife's ashes will be interred at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, near Ft. Hood, where he first met Helen.
