His memorial page on FindAGrave lists his date of death as 11 January 1915. His pension index card lists his date of death as 12 January 1915 in Lawton, Michigan. It is unclear whether this is Lawton in Kalamazoo County or in Van Buren County. No death certificate was found in the collection of digitized Michigan death certificates (1897-1920). Also, the transcribed cemetery records on Kent County, Michigan GenWeb does not list a date or place of death.
