GRAHAM. Ernest Robert, architect; b. Lowell, Mich., Aug. 22, 1868; s. Robert and Emma (Post) Graham; ed. Lowell, Mich.; m. Chicago, 1894, Carlotta Hall. Came to Chicago in May, 1888, and began work as architect, and during the construction and operation of the World's Columbian Expn was asst. dir. of works; associated with D. H. Burnham as a partner in the practice of architecture under the firm name of D. H. Burnham & Co., 1904-12; sr. partner of Graham, Burnham & Co., 1912-17, of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White since Aug., 1917. Among most noteworthy buildings are Equitable, Flatiron and Eighty Maiden Lane, N.Y. City; Union Station and General Post Office, Washington, D.C. ; New Continental & Commercial Bank Bldg., Marshall Field & Co. Stores, Chicago; Wanamaker Stores, Phila. and New York, etc. Clubs: Chicago, Union League, Mid-Day, South Shore Country, Old Elm, Chicago Golf; Metropolitan, Bankers', Oakland Golf, Sleepy Hollow Country (N.Y.); Greenwich (Conn.)
