Elizabeth, a daughter of Davis Stockton, was born about 1718 to 1724, probably in England. In about 1740 (at age about 16-22) she married William Whiteside Sr. probably in Goochland (now Albemarle) County, Virginia. It appears that William and Elizabeth (nee Stockton) Whiteside's son Davis Whiteside was born about 1741 near Whiteside's Creek, a branch of Mechum's River. They moved to what was then Tryon County (now Rutherford), North Carolina, sometime before the Revolutionary War. William Whiteside's will is dated 24 Oct 1777. Elizabeth Whiteside is shown as the head of household in the 1790 census, Rutherford County. It is thought that Elizabeth died in Rutherford County, North Carolina on 31 Oct 1791.
