    Douglas R. Tingley of Auburn died Jan. 9, 2000, in Renton. He was74.
    Born Aug. 5, 1925, in Tacoma, Mr. Tingley married EleanorEbertowski in Seattle in 1948. He was a World War II veteran and served in theNavy for 20 years. He moved to Auburn 15 years ago.
    Mr. Tingley retired from the Navy in 1962. He also worked as anaccount manager in the insurance industry, retiring in 1983.
    He was active in the Mount Rainier Branch, Fleet ReserveAssociation and participated in Veterans Day parades and military funeralservices at Tahoma National Cemetery and throughout the Puget Sound area. Heenjoyed world travel.
    Mr. Tingley is survived by his wife, Eleanor Tingley of Auburn;daughters Janice Falls of Bellevue, Marilyn Darrow of Willits, Calif., andDianne Zwiercan of Califon, N.J.; mother Helen Passut of Auburn; sister DarleneCaples of West Linn, Ore.; three granddaughters; and a grandson.
    A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Tahoma NationalCemetery in Maple Valley.
    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
    Arrangements are by Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.
