According to the book, History of Chelmsford Massachusetts, he fought in the French-Indian war. Page 174 - year of 1760- Dennis Mclane, enlisted by Benj. Byam, born in Chelmsford, Age 17.

Later fought in the 2nd Canadian Regiment(aka Hazen's Regiment) in the Revolutionary War. Believe he may have died in this war.
