Reverend Cummings ministered to the Ebbing Springs and Sinking Springs Presbyterian Congregation from about 1774 to ?. The Ebbing Springs Call" to Reverend Cummings lists somewhere between 110 and 140 signatories (depending on the source used). This list is important for Southwest Virginia history simply because it represents a snapshot of the people who were living in the lower Middle Fork of the Holston watershed in 1773.
