the maiden name of Catherine Dodson is handed down by family and unproven. I suspect she is the daughter of / or related to Nelson Dodson of VA & Licking Co. OH but am not certain.

Sometime between 1870-1873 "a fever" descended on the family of Thomas & Catherine Dunaway. Thomas Sr., Thomas Jr. John and Alexander all died. The daughters and Catherine survived.

25 Nov 1873 the marriage records of Green Co. WI show the marriage of "Mrs. C. E. Dunaway to John Walters. Either the marriage did not work out or John Walters also died sometime in the 1870s

The family says that Catherine moved with her daughters - Susie, Libby, Catherine & Mandy - and their husbands to Nebraska. Catherine married in Nebraska to John P. Sonney and they were homesteading in Polk Co. Catherine may have died in that general area but have not found death record or cemetery record for Catherine (Dodson) (Dunaway) Walters
