It is unfortunate that the secondary sources that cover Caleb don't seem to give any basis for their data, as it is not to be found in the expected places, which raises doubts.

The birth record for Caleb on 22 May 1704 is not found in the Lebanon Vital Records of the Barbour Collection, and its source is unknown. The mention of church records in Descendants makes one wonder if this is the date of the baptism?

Neither the Guilford nor Lebanon Vital Records of the Barbour Collection, nor Bailey's Connecticut Marriages, seem to have the marriage on 27 Feb 1728 to Jane Munger. The birth of a son Gershom to Caleb and Jane on 16 Sep 1728, less than 7 months later, is recorded in Salisbury.

The death record is not found in Salisbury Records. Descendants suggests that the probate record of a Caleb Woodworth is found in Norwich in 1776, and this date is reported in many places for Caleb's death, but the heirs of the Caleb who died in 1776 don't seem to match the known children of this Caleb.

These dates are hardly unanimously accepted. NEHGR, p. 54:48, doesn't give a marriage date, and most sources only say about 1727 based on the recorded birth of their son Gershom. Virkus gives his birth as 1707, his death as 1775. And although Benjamin Woodworth's will of 21 Jan 1726/27 does name a son Caleb, the identification of Caleb as Jane's step-brother in the NEHGR article even raises doubts if it was the son of Benjamin that married Jane Munger (echoed in a query in Connecticut Nutmegger, p. 18:307).
