    Bettie L. Lewis of Topeka, Kansas, age 89, born April 6, 1923, passed away on Thanksgiving Day after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl L. and Edna D. Lewis and one sister, Julia Feyh. She is survived by two sisters, other family members and many friends. Bettie was born, raised and spent most of her life in Topeka. In her early years, she was a teacher of typing and business in Gainesville, Florida, but spent most of her working years as an executive assistant to Gale Moss, who was General Manager of the Kansas Turnpike Authority in Wichita, Kansas. She was also part owner of Pacesetter Graphics in Topeka. A woman of many talents, Bettie sang and played guitar on the Shepherd of the Hills program on radio station WIBW in Topeka many years ago. Her other talents and hobbies consisted of knitting just about anything in a very short amount of time and she also loved doing ceramics. She became an expert in making molds and painting beautiful ceramic pieces during her life. Bettie will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. No formal memorial service will be held.
