Mrs. Bertha B. Rogers passed away at her home near Dover early Dec. 6, 1943, after a pro-longed illness, at the age of 62 years.
Bertha B. Flickinger was born July 27, 1881, near Dover and lived in the same community nearly all her life. She was united in marriage Feb.22, 1905, to John V. Rogers. To this union two children were born. A daughter, Mrs. Ocea E. Mansell, Alma, and son, Clyde Rogers, Rossville.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Dover Federated Church where she taught the young people's class for over fifteen years. She was a devoted Christian, and loved by all who knew her. A kind and loving neighbor and she dearly loved her home and family and friends. She was a member of the Dover Pansy Club and Aid Society and an Honorary member of the Silver Tea Club. She always took an active part in the welfare of the community and a constant worker in the church as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband, John V. Rogers of the home; daughter Ocea Mansell, Alma, and son Clyde Rogers of Rossville and four grandchildren, Patty Mansell, Alma; Arlen Mansell of the home and Don and Jane Rogers, Rossville and two sisters, Mrs. Nina Tomson, Dover, and Mrs. Gertie Lyttle, Topeka.
Rev. Fred Paxton, former minister of the Dover church, Adrion, Mo., had charge of the services. The flowers were profuse and she was laid to rest in the Dover Cemetery, Wed., Dec.8, 1943.
