2 FORMER LOCAL MEN ARE KILLED
BERNHARD BRESSLER AND GEO. THOMA DIE IN LOS ANGELES
Bernhard L. Bressler, 64, and George N. Thoma, 29, both former Belleville molders, were killed in automobile accidents in Los Angeles, Calif., yesterday. Since word of the accidental death of the two men was contained in separate telegrams to the respective relatives, it could not be ascertained whether the men died in the same crash.
However, it is believed that this was the case since both of the men were formerly of this city and both followed the same trade.
Bernhard L. Bressler was born in Belleville, December 24, 1867, a son of the late Charles and Magdalena, nee Sattler, Bressler. Bressler learned the molding trade in Belleville. Sixteen years ago he left for the west coast and since has been a resident of Los Angeles.
His sister, Mrs. Clara Hamant, resides at 702 North Charles street.
He also leaves a nephew, Ferd Hamant, who operates the Lincoln Filling Station at the intersection of Main and Twelfth streets.
Bressler was a member of the Molders Union and also of the Knights of Pythias lodge.
The body, which will be forwarded from Los Angeles immediately, will probably arrive in this city Tuesday when it will be taken in charge by the Gundlach Undertaking Company.
