    Tomb stone in Littleton (inscription found p. 167):
    Here sleeps until the resurrection morn, The Rev. Benjamin Shattuck, son of Dr Philip Shattuck, of Watertown: the first ordained minister of Littleton. Born May 15, A.D. 1684. Died A. D. 1763. AEt. 79.
    This was erected about 75 years after he died, has confused Benjamin Shattuck of Cambridge, s/o Philip, b. 15 May 1684, with Benjamin Shattuck of Littleton, s/o William, b. 30 Jul 1687. Deed in Worcester Registry of Deeds, Vol. 35, p. 439, dated 12 Jan 1748, "Benjamin Shattuck of Littleton" sells land belonging to "heirs and Descents of my Honored Father, Mr. William Shattuck, late of Watertown, Deceased". Also other, similar deeds. [Note: the stone has apparently been corrected, see Find A Grave.]
