   Charles Avery Yockey,
82, Rt. 4, Sievers Road, died
at 4L25 a.m. today in Good
Samaritan Hospital after a
brief illness.
   He was born on Jan. 31,
1898 in Hunt City, Ill., the son
of Jasper and Zona (Dow-
ney).  Yockey was a retired
oilfield worker, having been
employed by the Union Oil
Co.  He was a member of the
Oblong (Ill.) Masonic Lodge
and the Olney Church of the
Nazarene.
   Survivors are a son, Dale
Yockey, Vincennes; a sister,
Mrs. Blanche DeBow, Cen-
tralia, Ill.; three grand-
daughters; and six great-
grandchildren.
   Preceding him in death
were his wife, Lena, who
died i 1977; a son; four
brothers; and a sister.
   Funeral services will be
at 1:30 p.m. (CST) Saturday
at the Summers Funeral
Home in Olney with the
Revs. James T. Wheeler and
Edward J. Eichenberger of-
ficiating.  Burial will be in
Mound Cemetery, Oblong.
   Friends may call from 6
to 9 p.m. (CST) Friday at the
funeral home, where a Ma-
sonic service will be con-
ducted at 7 p.m. that day.
