    "Arthur1 Gary was baptized in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, England, May 20, 1599, and was the son of Nathaniel and Joane (_____) Gary. … One tradition states that Arthur Gary came to America on the ship Abigail in 1635, which sailed from Plymouth, Eng., but his name is not included in the passenger list of that vessel. He was, however, an early resident of Roxbury, Mass., where he was admitted a Freeman of the Colony on March 14, 1638/9. … He died in Roxbury, Dec. 17, 1666, aged 67, 'having been distracted 18 weeks.'"
