    Armand C Atkinson, 66, Alma, died Wednesday at a Topeka Hospital. He was born July 12, 1916, at Louisville, the son of David and Cora Forrester Atkinson, and lived at Alma 36 years. Mr. Atkinson operated Atkinson's Studio, a photography studio at Alma. He was clerk-typist at Forbes Air Base in Topeka 18 years before he retired in 1972. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Ed Palenske Post No 32 of the American Legion and Alma Lodge No 161, AF & AM, all at Alma. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Aleutian Islands. He was married to Esther Mathies Dec 22, 1946, at Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs Diane Artzer, Overland Park; two sisters, Mrs Floneta Shea, Wamego, and Elsmere Atkinson, Lake Hamilton, Ark; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Peace United Church of Christ in Alma. Ed Palenske Post No 32 of the American Legion will conduct graveside services at the E & R Cemetery, Alma. Mr. Atkinson will lie in state from 1 pm today until 11 am Saturday at LaMar-Gentry Funeral Home in Alma and afternoon Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
