    Tony was a retired Colonel of the United States Army, where he served as a helicopter pilot. He was stationed in Camp Gary Owen, South Korea; Ft. Carson, Colorado; Ft. Knox, Kentucky; and Ft. Polk, Louisiana, while on active duty. After transitioning to the Army Reserve, he served his country in many additional capacities. Mr. Shaffer was also a practicing attorney, specializing in health care law at Squire, Sanders, & Dempsey in Columbus, Ohio. He was also a strong supporter of Bishop Fenwick Elementary School and Rosecrans High School, where he served on the School Board.
